Though why should we expect age to mellow us? If it isn’t life’s business to reward merit, why should it be life’s business to give us warm, comfortable feelings towards its end? What possible evolutionary purpose could nostalgia serve?

I can not believe this came out 10 years ago! I remember this was my favorite song from the album

a classic velvet underground track taken from trentemøller’s latest compilation (LateNightTales). 

(PS I never could figure out why people preferred the Beatles over the Velvet Underground. I remember when I heard the famous banana album the first time more than 20 years ago it made such a profound effect on me, I felt like the 60s made sense all of a sudden.)
